Bayern Target Liverpool’s Konaté as European Giants Circle Ahead of 2026 Window

Bayern Munich have opened talks with representatives of Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konaté as they look to strengthen their defence ahead of next summer.

According to Bild, Bayern are preparing for the possibility of losing Dayot Upamecano, whose contract negotiations have stalled amid strong interest from Liverpool, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Konaté, 26, is entering the final months of his Liverpool deal, making him one of the most sought-after potential free agents in Europe. Bayern face stiff competition, with both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also in discussions for the French international.

Tottenham Hotspur are planning an ambitious rebuild of their attack and have identified Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and Juventus star Kenan Yildiz as key targets.

However, Spurs could be dragged into a bidding war, with Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all monitoring the situation.

Atalanta may look to sell Ademola Lookman in January following tension between the forward and manager Ivan Juric.

The club had valued him at €50 million in the summer but found no takers, and the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations could further complicate any potential move.

Meanwhile, Spurs boss Thomas Frank is open to bringing Ivan Toney back to the Premier League.

The Al Ahli striker is believed to be considering the switch to boost his 2026 World Cup chances, though his club are reluctant to let him leave mid-season.

Barcelona are also preparing formal talks with Manchester United over a permanent move for Marcus Rashford, with Hansi Flick pushing for the transfer to be completed for €30 million.
