Real Madrid faces a challenging road in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League after being drawn into a competitive group that includes Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and Manchester City.
The 15-time European champions, who were eliminated in last season’s semifinal, will enter this year’s competition under the guidance of new manager Xabi Alonso.
The draw, made on August 28, 2025, sees Madrid placed alongside not only Liverpool and Man City but also a host of other top European clubs.
The group will feature Italian giants Juventus, Portuguese side Benfica, French clubs Marseille and Monaco, Greek team Olympiakos, and Kazakhstan’s Kairat Almaty.
Madrid will kick off their campaign at home against Man City before traveling to Anfield to face Liverpool in a repeat of last season’s clash, where they were defeated 2-0.
Xabi Alonso’s first season in charge of Madrid will be scrutinized as he aims to guide the team back to glory.
The group stage fixtures will see Real Madrid playing their home games against Man City, Juventus, Marseille, and Monaco, while their away fixtures will take them to Benfica, Olympiakos, and Kairat Almaty.
With a stacked group and tough away trips, Real Madrid’s journey to the knockout rounds is set to be a thrilling one.
