Tudor Takes Charge at Spurs in Interim Bid to Steady Season

Tottenham Hotspur have moved quickly to install Igor Tudor as interim head coach until the end of the season following the dismissal of Thomas Frank earlier this week.

With Spurs hovering just five points above the relegation zone, the club hierarchy wanted an experienced figure in place ahead of the players’ return to training.

Tudor, 47, fits that brief, having managed across Serie A, Ligue 1, and several other European leagues, often parachuted in during turbulent periods.

The Croatian has been without a job since his departure from Juventus in October after an eight-game winless run, but his reputation for demanding intensity and tactical discipline made him an appealing short-term option. Tottenham sources believe Tudor’s ability to impose structure quickly was central to the decision.

As a player, Tudor enjoyed a distinguished career, winning two Serie A titles with Juventus and reaching the Champions League final in 2003.

His lone managerial trophy came with Hajduk Split in 2013, but his coaching journey has been defined more by short, high-pressure stints than long-term projects.

Tudor is expected to focus on tightening Spurs’ defensive shape and restoring confidence in a squad short on belief.

While he may be considered for the permanent role, Tottenham are already weighing longer-term options for the summer. For now, survival and stability are the immediate priorities.
